Portobelo
Portobelo is a World Heritage Site situated on the Caribbean coast. During the colonial time, it was the most important port of Latin America, from where gold and silver were transported to Spain, and therefore attacked by pirates on several occasions. Portobelo is also declared National Park and comprises of tropical forests, mangroves, islands, beaches and coral reefs.

Itinerary:
8:00 AM : Get picked up from the comfort of your accommodation in Panama City (if selected). On the way the driver will make a stop at the supermarket if you need to buy anything or use the restroom.
9:30/10:00 AM: Arrive at Portobelo dock and hop aboard a speedboat (20-minute journey), which will drive you first to Venas Azules , a mangrove lagoon where you can swim if you like.
After that, the speedboat will head to Playa Blanca, where you can do snorkeling, swim, relax or have lunch at the Kiosks on the beach (if open).
2:00 PM: You will get back on the speedboat and leave the beach back to Portobelo. Enjoy your free time exploring independently the town: don't miss the Black Jesus Church, the Custom House and the Spanish fortresses. Have a delicious local lunch at one of the restaurants with spectacular sea view.
3:00 PM: The transportation will leave from Portobelo dock and you will start your journey back to the city.
4:30/5:00 PM: You will be dropped-off at your accommodation in Panama City. (if selected)

Snorkeling
Portobelo is well-known for its spectacular coral reef. In fact, it is home to several diving schools. Here, you will find corals in both deep and shallow waters, therefore you can still appreciate if you're not a diver.

Enjoy your free time strolling around vibrant Portobelo town. Checkout the fortresses, the Custom House and the Black Jesus Church. Enjoy a delicious local lunch, at one of the beautiful restaurants by the sea.
